Program Description

During Teen Craftivism, teens will learn a new craft and the history behind it, focusing on both historical and modern uses of arts and crafts. From quilt codes leading the way to freedom to modern ecological warriors “bombing” barren cityscapes with wildflower seeds, arts and crafts have a long legacy of being used to convey a message.

On February 2, we’ll make Mental Health First Aid Kits with YWCA McLean County Stepping Stones.

During the registration windows for these programs, registration can be completed online at bit.ly/teencraftivism, by calling 309.590.6168, or by visiting the Help Desk at the Library and registering in person. Registration for the December 8 session can also be completed below.

Questions about this program can be emailed to Cora at reference@bloomingtonlibrary.org.

Hearing Device Assistance

To accommodate hard-of-hearing patrons, the library offers the use of assistive listening devices in each Community Room and in each Children’s Program Room. For these devices to work, the presenter must use the room’s sound system. For the clearest sound, make sure the device is unobstructed by clothing or jewelry and sit in the first few rows.
If you experience connectivity issues, please let a staff member know. A guide on using the assistive listening devices is available.
