Masks required for entry

In accordance with recommendations from the Center for Disease Control, masks are required to be worn by staff and patrons.

Masks must cover both nose and mouth.

Tax Assistance

Patrons in need of printing tax forms can do so using the Library’s public printer.  

The cheapest and easiest method to receive paper copies of tax forms and instructions is to call the IRS and have them mailed directly to your home. The number is 1.800.TAX.FORM (1.800.829.3676). 

AARP Tax Aide (no income guidelines) 

AARP Tax Aide volunteers help people prepare their taxes for filing and will return to Bloomington Public Library in 2022.
Volunteers will work to prepare tax returns most Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings from Tuesday, February 1-Thursday, April 7, 2022, in the Library’s Community Room.

The 2022 format of this service – in-person or drop-off/pick-up – has not yet been determined. For general information about the Tax Aide program, visit AARP Tax Aide or call 1.800.775.6776. Specific information about the Bloomington Library site will be provided as soon as possible. 

VITA (income guidelines apply)

VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) is an organization that works with families throughout McLean County to help prepare federal and state income tax returns. This year’s sites include Bloomington Housing Authority, Heartland Community College, and the Normal Activity and Recreation Center and will operate with a drop-off/pick-up model by appointment only. To receive assistance, one must meet VITA’s income guidelines.
