Program Description

During this Talk Money Week 2025 program, teens will learn about Money Concepts from the Illinois State Credit Union. This program is for teens in grades 6-12.

Financial success is a lifelong endeavor with many goals to achieve along the way. Even as adults, it can be challenging to make sense of our priorities and navigate all the financial information thrown at us. For teens, it may be doubly confusing.

Helping the next generation learn how to manage money can pave the path for a successful financial future. Learn key financial concepts, how to set clear financial goals, and how to create a plan to achieve them.

Attendees will learn:

  • An introduction to saving, budgeting, and money management

  • How to build credit

  • How to set and achieve financial goals.

During the registration window for this program, registration can be completed online below, by calling 309.590.6168, or by visiting the Help Desk at the Library and registering in person.

A Spanish version of this program will be offered at 4pm on Thursday, November 6. Details about that session are available at bit.ly/dinero1106. Hearing Device Assistance

To accommodate hard-of-hearing patrons, the library offers the use of assistive listening devices in each Community Room and in each Children’s Program Room. For these devices to work, the presenter must use the room’s sound system. For the clearest sound, make sure the device is unobstructed by clothing or jewelry and sit in the first few rows.
If you experience connectivity issues, please let a staff member know. A guide on using the assistive listening devices is available.
