In-Person ProgramProgram Description
Join the Ecology Action Center to learn about eco-friendly fall yard management! You'll learn different methods to handle your autumn leaves and figure out which methods you might like to adopt at home! We’ll cover the benefits of mulching, composting, and leaving the leaves for wildlife and pollinators to enjoy. For those interested in raking leaves for pickup, we will discuss the dos and don'ts of leaf collection to minimize stormwater pollution. Perfect for homeowners, gardeners, and anyone curious about smarter fall cleanup!
People of all ages are welcome to attend. Children should plan to attend with their caregiver.
This program and BPL’s new Prairie on the Patio Garden were made possible through grant funding from Illinois Prairie Community Foundation. Thank you IPCF and Wild Ones Illinois Prairie Chapter for helping make this garden dream a reality.

Hearing Device Assistance
To accommodate hard-of-hearing patrons, the library offers the use of assistive listening devices in each Community Room and in each Children’s Program Room. For these devices to work, the presenter must use the room’s sound system. For the clearest sound, make sure the device is unobstructed by clothing or jewelry and sit in the first few rows.
If you experience connectivity issues, please let a staff member know. A guide on using the assistive listening devices is available.
