Program Description

During Teen Craftivism, teens will learn a new craft and the history behind it, focusing on both historical and modern uses of arts and crafts. From quilt codes leading the way to freedom to modern ecological warriors “bombing” barren cityscapes with wildflower seeds, arts and crafts have a long legacy of being used to convey a message.

Teen Craftivism will meet on the first Monday of each month, with the exception being the month of September. September's meeting will be held the 2nd Monday of the month due to the Labor Day holiday.

Monthly crafts for September through November are as follows:

  • September 15: Doing Your Research
  • October 6: Sustainable Food: Indoor Gardening
  • November 3: Dear Congressperson ...

Registration is required and can be completed below, by calling 309.590.6168 or by visiting the Help Desk on the Library's second floor.
