Program Description

Choose an Adventure: Prairie Aviation Museum

We're celebrating the end of our Summer Reading Program with Choose an Adventure programs for teens! During Choose an Adventure, teens will get to pick one of five different programs in which they wish to participate. Participants may only sign up for one of the five programs. If there aren't seats available in your preferred program, check out the other options at the following links:

  1. Mass VR - Wednesday, August 3
  2. Red Raccoon Game Night - Saturday, August 6
  3. IDEA Center at IWU - Tuesday, August 9
  4. IWU eSports - Thursday, August 11
  5. Prairie Aviation Museum Tour - Saturday, August 13

In the Prairie Aviation Museum program, attendees will have an opportunity to ...

Enjoy a guided tour of the Prairie Aviation Museum which will feature 11 expertly restored aircraft dating from the 1950s to modern times. The F-14 Tomcat (as featured in the movie "Top Gun") made one of its final flights in the US when it flew directly to the museum to be put on display. Some of the planes will even have their cockpits open so you can see exactly what their pilots would have seen.

Thanks to our friends at the Prairie Aviation Museum for helping us with this event!

Registration in this program is limited to 15 teens. Online registration for this program can be completed below. You may also register by calling 309.590.6168 or by visiting the Adult Services Desk at the Library and registering in person.
