Program Description

Waffle Party

What's butter than celebrating International Waffle Day alone? Celebrating it together on Zoom!

Let's get batter at making breakfast by decorating waffles as we read, play, and craft together. As Narwhal and Jelly's Super Waffle says to Strawberry Sidekick, "berry good thinking!"

It'll be a waffle lot of fun.

During the registration window for this program, registration can be completed online below, by calling 309.590.6155 or by visiting the Children's Desk at the Library and registering in person. As soon as registration is complete, you will receive an email with a link to access the online discussion.

Waffle and craft kits will be available to registrants for pickup via curbside pickup at the Library on Tuesday, March 23, between 9am and 11am. Email alexb@bloomingtonlibrary.org to make separate arrangements if this pickup window does not work or if you'd prefer that your waffle/craft kit include a gluten-free option.

Waffle and Craft Kit includes:

  • 1 Oakrun Farms belgium waffle, individually wrapped (more details here)
  • 1 banana
  • 2 assorted flavors of honey straws (more details here
  • 2 paper plates and paper to make Narwhal and Jelly (scissors, glue, and marker not provided) (similar to this design
  • 1 waffle tic-tac-toe game (printed from here)
  • 1 waffle coloring page

You can also make your own waffle, and decorate with your own ingredients if you choose (Peanut butter, jelly, yogurt, chocolate chips, cinnamon sugar, powdered sugar, apple slices or any assortment of fruit work well. Or, try your hand at making a savory waffle!)
