Program Description

Join Bloomington Library, the Prairie Pride Coalition, and PFLAG Bloomington/Normal for a virtual discussion about The Guncle by Stephen Rowley. This book discussion is an introduction to a new book club which will meet in person and quarterly during 2023 -- The True Colors Book Club.

To register for the discussion, email pflagbn@gmail.com. PFLAG will send a link to the discussion to those who register.

Multiple print copies of the book will be available to check out from the library after November 1, 2022. Contact the Adult Services Desk at 309.590.6168 or reference@bloomingtonlibrary.org to check out or reserve one.

Digital copies - -- eBooks or eAudiobooks -- may be available through the Libby or Hoopla apps. Limited copies may also be available courtesy of the Prairie Pride Coalition. To inquire, email info@ppc-il.org.

The True Colors Book Club is hosted by Bloomington Public Library, PFLAG Bloomington-Normal, and Prairie Pride Coalition. It is welcoming of all age groups, and any member of the public who can respect this safe space for our LGBTQ community. The group will discuss books with themes relevant to the LGBTQ+ community. In addition to discussing books and socializing, the group will serve as a source of support and safety for all members.
