Program Description

Name Change & Gender Marker 101

Join the staff from Transformative Justice Law Project of Illinois (TJLP) to learn more about the legal name change process for adults and minors in Illinois and how to update the gender marker on various documents.

This online presentation covers the paperwork you will need to submit to complete the process, what to expect at court, and how to update documents after a legal name change. Learn about the changing requirements for updating the gender marker on IL driver's licenses, state IDs, birth certificates, passports, and with social security. You'll learn about the support TJLP offers to trans and non-binary individuals and families across Illinois. This workshop is appropriate for any Illinois resident.

Online registration for this program can be completed below. You may also register by calling 309.590.6168 or by visiting the Adult Services Desk at the Library and registering in person. As soon as registration is complete, you will receive an email with a link to access the online discussion.
