Program Description

Read Juneteenth for Mazie by Floyd Cooper (Picture Window Books, 2016) as you walk the grounds of the McLean County Museum of History in the latest StoryWalk® installation from the Bloomington Public Library! The StoryWalk will be set up in time for the 7:30am start of the Downtown Farmers’ Market on Saturday, June 19, and will remain on the museum grounds through 5pm on Sunday, June 20.

If you attend the StoryWalk during the Farmers’ Market, you may also be treated to performances from several “living statues”. During 10am and 11am performances, these living statues will share stories from members of Bloomington’s African American community. The living statues are being hosted on the Museum grounds via a partnership with the Bloomington-Normal Black History Project.
