Bloomington Library will be CLOSED Monday-Thursday, May 20-23.

The Bookmobile will make its stops during these closures. The Bookmobile schedule is available at

  • Monday’s English Conversation Group will meet at STAR Literacy (201 E. Grove St.)
  • Tuesday’s Fiction Book Club will meet online via Zoom. Visit to register for this program and receive the Zoom link.

This closure will allow us to continue to unbox 107,000 books (which were moved to storage when our construction project began) and to shelve 262,000 books. Some collections and areas of the library will not be available until the library reopens on Friday, May 24.

Program Description

Intro to Processing

Teens will be introduced to Processing, a programming software which will teach them to create animations and visual 'sketches' using code similar to Java. Coding basics, digital art, and data visualization are amongst the topics which will be discussed. During the class, teens will have an opportunity to create their own designs.

Registration is required and is limited to 15 teens. Registration will open at 10am on Monday, October 25, and can be completed online below, by calling 309.590.6168, or in person at the Adult Services Desk. Teens will need to download Processing at and have it ready and available when the program begins.
