Program Description

The Great American Eclipse

Adler Planetarium astronomer Michelle Nichols will discuss the phenomenon of a solar eclipse and help us prepare for the solar eclipse that's coming on April 8, 2024. You won't want to miss this vibrant and entertaining speaker as you learn a bit about the workings of the solar system.

This program is appropriate for students in upper-elementary school, teens, and adults. Those who opt to attend in person will receive a free pair of eclipse viewing glasses.

To receive the Zoom link needed to participate in this program virtually, registration is required. Online attendees can register below, by calling 309.590.6168, or by visiting the Help Desk on the library's 2nd floor. This program will not be recorded.

Questions about this program can be emailed to Carol at reference@bloomingtonlibrary.org.

This program is the first in a series about the eclipse and the solar system. Watch for additional programs in March and April. While supplies last, eclipse glasses will be available to in-person attendees at any of the library's eclipse programs. Additional programs are not yet scheduled.
