Program Description

Fireworks in a Jar

Teens will work on a circuitry project which, upon completion, will resemble fireworks in a jar. Conductive thread combined with LED lights will be used to create the firework effect.

Each jar kit will include a coin battery, coin holder, conductive thread, flashing LED lights, wide mouth jar, foam paint brush, tissue paper, glue, and thread needle. Each teen will need to provide their own pair of scissors and tape.

Supplies will be reserved for those who register and can be picked up at the Circulation Desk. Please do not come to the library to pick up your supplies until you’ve received an email stating that your supply kit is ready to be picked up.

Registration is limited to 15 teens, opens at 9am on Monday, June 20, and can be completed online below, by calling 309.590.6168, or in person at the Adult Services Desk.

The program will take place virtually on Zoom. Those who register will receive a link to the program in their registration confirmation email.

Questions regarding registration can be emailed to techprogramming@bloomingtonlibrary.org.
