Program Description

Fall Concert Series: Donna Herula Blues Trio

Welcome the Fall with live music!

Playing a variety of blues and Americana music styles, the Donna Herula Trio tips the hat to the traditional while creating a fresh, contemporary perspective on blues and roots music. Donna Herula, blues singer, songwriter, resonator slide guitarist, and Chicago Blues Hall of Fame inductee will be joined by Marc Edelstein on upright bass and Tony Wittrock on acoustic guitar and mandolin for a fun show. The Donna Herula Blues Trio will perform songs of the Deep South that developed into Chicago Blues. The group will also talk about the artists that made these music styles popular. In addition, they will play original songs from Donna’s award-winning blues album "Bang at the Door" which won "Best Acoustic Blues Album" at the 2022 Independent Blues Awards.

This program is free and open to all. It will be held at The Junction, 301 East Oakland Ave., Bloomington. This building is two blocks south of the Library and used to house the Mission Mart thrift store.
