LIBRARY CLOSURE - May 20-23

Bloomington Library will be CLOSED Monday-Thursday, May 20-23.

The Bookmobile will make its stops during these closures. The Bookmobile schedule is available at bit.ly/bookmobileschedule.

  • Monday’s English Conversation Group will meet at STAR Literacy (201 E. Grove St.)
  • Tuesday’s Fiction Book Club will meet online via Zoom. Visit bit.ly/fiction521 to register for this program and receive the Zoom link.

This closure will allow us to continue to unbox 107,000 books (which were moved to storage when our construction project began) and to shelve 262,000 books. Some collections and areas of the library will not be available until the library reopens on Friday, May 24.

During open hours leading up to the closure, call 309.590.6120 or text 309.446.8398 with questions.

Program Description

Dungeons and Dragons for Kids!

Calling all adventurers! This will be a simplified, rules-light Dungeons and Dragons experience for 3rd-5th graders. Maybe you want to prove to yourself that you are strong and capable, maybe you want to protect others and make friends, maybe you just want glory and gold! All motives are welcome.

Pre-generated characters will be provided. We will be using the roll20.net virtual tabletop platform, so an email address will be required to be invited and to create an account. Creating an account in Roll20 is free!

During the registration window for this program, registration can be completed online below, by calling 309.590.6155, or by visiting the Children's Services Desk at the Library and registering in person. After you register, you'll be invited to a Roll20 game via email. This invite will not be automatically generated and may take a day or two to receive.

Please email jessew@bloomingtonlibrary.org if you have questions.
