LIBRARY CLOSURE - May 20-23

Bloomington Library will be CLOSED Monday-Thursday, May 20-23.

The Bookmobile will make its stops during these closures. The Bookmobile schedule is available at bit.ly/bookmobileschedule.

  • Monday’s English Conversation Group will meet at STAR Literacy (201 E. Grove St.)
  • Tuesday’s Fiction Book Club will meet online via Zoom. Visit bit.ly/fiction521 to register for this program and receive the Zoom link.

This closure will allow us to continue to unbox 107,000 books (which were moved to storage when our construction project began) and to shelve 262,000 books. Some collections and areas of the library will not be available until the library reopens on Friday, May 24.

During open hours leading up to the closure, call 309.590.6120 or text 309.446.8398 with questions.

Program Description

Children of all ages can stop by the Children's Services Desk between 10am-12pm on Monday, October 31, 2022, to participate in Halloween-themed activities and crafts (while supplies last).  Also, visit the bookmobile at Marie Litta Park (directly South of the Library) during this time for more Halloween activities. Costumes are welcome!

Note: No registration is needed for this program. Children ages 5 and under may need assistance with activities and crafts. Supplies for activities and crafts will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis, while supplies last. Costumes are welcome! However, we will not have a parade due to construction. This program is not suitable for large groups. Pictures of children in their costumes will be taken by our staff and posted to the library's social media pages.
