Program Description

This is a two-part program which meets on two dates.

Design a T-Shirt (7/18); Tour MCW (7/21)

PART 1: From 6-8pm on Monday, July 18, registered teens will collaborate on Zoom to create a single T-shirt design using Canva.

PART 2: At 2pm on Thursday, July 21, these same teens will tour Meltdown Creative Works (216 E. Grove St.) and learn about the process involved when printing on T-Shirts, from pre-production to graphic design, and then on to printing. During the tour, teens will get to see three presses in action.

During the tour, teens will also receive a lesson in chemistry as they discuss applications such as vinyl and plastisol, both requiring different heat temps and techniques which enable designs to adhere to different surfaces.

Registration opens at 9am on Tuesday, July 5, and is limited to 15 teens. Registration can be completed online below, by calling 309.590.6168, or in person at the Adult Services Desk. Those who register will receive a link to the July 18 program in their registration confirmation email.

Questions regarding registration can be emailed to techprogramming@bloomingtonlibrary.org.
