Program Description

Beginning Cross-Stitch

Get started with cross-stitching and make a cute design to hang in your home or give as a gift. This fun class -- suitable for teens and adults -- will be led by Jez Layman, librarian and crafter.

Cross-stitch supply kits will be reserved for the first 50 people who register. An email with details about picking up the kit -- including a pickup deadline -- will follow registration.

Beginning July 10, registration can be completed online below, by calling 309.590.6168, or in person at the Adult Services Desk. During registration, registrants will indicate if they’d like to pick up their kit at Drive Up Lane, on the Bookmobile, or at the Checkout Desk. The cross-stitch tutorial class video will be active from July 10-August 4 on BPL's YouTube channel,

In the event that all kits are claimed before August 4, the video can still be watched and patrons can use their own supplies to create a cross-stitch project.

Craft kits will contain: pattern, embroidery floss, embroidery needle, 14-count Aida cloth, and bamboo embroidery hoop.

Participants will need to provide their own scissors.
