Program Description

Celebrate the end of summer reading and explore our newly renovated building with a variety of activities for all ages! 

  • Animals Around the World (including a sloth!), presented by Incredible Bats, in Community Rooms 2-3 (two sessions offered)
    • 10am-11am
    • 11:30am-12:30pm (this session will end after other celebration programming has concluded)
  • Tours of our newly expanded and renovated building will be offered at 10am, 10:30am, 11am & 11:30am. Tours will leave from the Check Out Desk on the first floor.
  • Demos in the new Innovation Lab
  • Demos in the new Recording Studios
  • Robotics demonstration from Metal Cow Robotics in the Computer Lab
  • Magic School Bus Bounce House in Community Room 1
  • Crafts in the Children's Department
  • Lego Challenge in the Children's Department
  • Bay Area Mexicana Food Truck (10am-1pm; food for purchase on Olive Street)
  • Olde Tyme Ice Cream Food Truck (10am-1pm; treats for purchase on Olive Street)
  • "Ribbon cutting" photo opportunity; first floor lobby

The library's official ribbon cutting with the McLean County Chamber of Commerce will take place at 11:30am on Thursday, August 1.
