LIBRARY CLOSURE

Bloomington Library will be CLOSED Monday, May 13 through 5pm on Thursday, May 16.

  • The library will be closed ALL DAY from May 13-15.
  • The library will open at 5pm on May 16.

The Bookmobile will make its stops during these closures. Find the Bookmobile schedule at bit.ly/bookmobileschedule.

The closure will allow us to begin to bring back and shelve 3,500 boxes of books which were moved to storage when our construction project began. Additional closures will be necessary and will be announced as details develop. Some collections may not be available until the move is complete.

Program Description

Let’s Dish! A Cookbook Club

Calling culinary enthusiasts! Join us in exploring the book The Wok: Recipes and Techniques by J. Kenji Lopez-Alt. Prepare a recipe of your choosing from the cookbook and bring it to share. Copies of the cookbook will be available to borrow from the Help Desk on the second floor of the library.

As we sample these culinary creations, we'll discuss food and cooking. Please bring serving utensils for your dish. Disposable tableware and water will be provided. Participants who bring a dish will be able to sample others. 

Registration is preferred and can be completed online below, by calling 309.590.6168, or by visiting the Help Desk to register in person.  

Note: This is a potluck event and recipes will be prepared in personal kitchens. Eat at your own discretion.
