Program Description

The Long Shadow: Q&A with the Director

The documentary The Long Shadow examines Director Frances Causey's family legacy of white privilege, placing it in the context of the history of anti-black racism in the United States which began with slavery and continues to impact our society today. Causey is a former CNN Senior Producer, a TED contributor, and an Emmy winner.

From June 21-28, patrons are encouraged to view the film using this link: thelongshadowfilm.com/illinois-libraries. Use that same link to register for a live Zoom session with Causey which will take place at 7pm on Thursday, June 24.

If you would like to receive an email which includes the link to watch the film and an email reminder about the June 24 discussion, also register at bit.ly/bplshadow062421. Registering with the Library is NOT required to participate in this event, yet doing so will give you the information and a reminder via email.
