Program Description

August 28 is International Play Music on the Porch Day. To celebrate, the library is holding a concert on its patio! Come and have a listen to the  Orpheus Mandolin Orchestra.

Orpheus is a "classical mandolin" ensemble, following in a tradition that began in America around the turn of the 20th century, with primarily amateur community ensembles of mandolin-family instruments playing a variety of classical, ragtime, and Tin Pan Alley music. The current group originated in 2003 as an adjunct to a long-standing old-time string band jam session.
