Holodeck Recreation (Star Trek Launch Party)

Adults and teens will test their Starfleet officer training with both virtual reality and board games from 2-4pm in the Community Room. Command the VR bridge of a VR starship; challenge friends in phaser tag; test board game skills; and stop by for a drink at Quark's VR bar.

VR Star Trek Bridge Crew for Teens (Star Trek Launch Party)

Teens will play Star Trek Bridge Crew, a cooperative VR game. As members of the Enterprise crew, teens will work together to pilot the ship and complete missions. The Playstation VR units will live long and prosper in teenZone where they’ll be available for use for light years to come by anyone with a Teen library card.



Science & Technology: Comparing Tech on Earth to Extraterrestrial Tech

How might alien tech compare to human tech?A former MUFON (Mutual UFO Network) Illinois Section Director, will look at human science and tech while giving insights into alien tech as referenced by radar and visual sightings. If you're age 10-105, meet at 2pm in the Community Room.

Advisory Board will meet on the first and third Thursdays of each month from 4:30-6pm in teenZone. The group will play games and discuss Bloomington Public Library’s teen services.

Teen Read Week: Unleash Your Story

To celebrate Teen Read Week, the library is giving away five Barnes & Noble gift cards. To enter, teens need to complete a Teen Read Week Bingo Card and turn it in teenZone between Sept 9-Oct 8.



Teen DIY Craft: Monster Foam Slime

On October 9, the teens in grades 6-12 will gear up for Halloween as they make Monster Foam Slime at 1:30pm in the Bloomington Public Library Community Room.

Star Wars Reads Day Button Making for Teens

Teens will make a Star Wars button in Bloomington Public Library’s teenZone. No registrations required. All supplies will be provided. These crafts are open to those in grades 6-12 from 9am-5pm.

Explore the worldwide history of cards and card games at 6:30pm in the Community Room. We'll discuss the meaning behind the symbols on today's playing cards and learn a few games. There will be fun for ages 8-100.
