A Tale for Two Cities

A Tale for Two Cities is a community-wide reading program that encourages Twin City residents to read and discuss a book and attend programming surrounding a common theme from that book. Bloomington Public Library, Normal Public Library and Heartland Community College are working together in 2011 to encourage the community as a whole to read Rocket Boys by Homer H. Hickam, Jr. Copies of the book are available for check out at Heartland Community College, BPL, NPL and on the Bookmobile. As a highlight of the programming lineup, Pekin native and astronaut Scott Altman will travel to Bloomington-Normal on March 12, 2011, for two daytime children's presentations and a nighttime presentation for all ages. We wish to thank the Friends of Bloomington Public Library and the Friends of Normal Public Library for once again funding this program. |
