  • Adult DIY Series

    For the Adult DIY Series, to register, call 309-261-3935, the only number at which registrations will be taken. There is no online registration for these DIY programs. A wait list will be created if necessary. To register, leave a message with 1) the name(s) and phone number(s) of the people registering and 2) which date/time you want to attend. These programs are for adults, aged 17 and older. Each class is offered twice and each is limited to 10 people; you may register for one. Registration is required and opens on the listed date for each program. Stay tuned for future programs requiring registration and be sure to check our events calendar for other programs!

    • Kokedama (Japanese Moss Garden Ball) -- February 27 at 6:30pm or February 28 at 10am

      Try a low-water planting technique that's becoming more common in the states. Registration starts Monday, February 13th at 10:00 am. Each class is limited to 10 people. A waitlist will be created if needed. To register, call 309-261-3935, the only number at which registrations will be taken.

  • Career Builder Seminar Series

    Each Career Builder Seminar Series class is limited to 10 participants. Registration is required and can be completed by calling 309-828-6093 or using the link on the library's website. A waitlist will be created if each program becomes full. The classes are in the Community Room unless noted otherwise.     • Job Search Basics (Community Room) -- February 2, 2:30pm

      Look at some common job seeking websites and learn how to search and apply for jobs online. An email address is required. If you do not have an email address, please arrive 15 minutes early in order to create an email account. Registration begins Monday, January 23rd at 10:00am. A waitlist will be created if needed.     • Resume Therapy in Microsoft Word (Community Room) -- February 9, 2:30pm

      Create a professional-looking resume using the templates available in Microsoft Word and basic formatting tricks. Registration begins Monday, January 23rd at 10:00am.       LinkedIn is a powerful social networking tool used by employers and job seekers alike to match professionals with open positions. Participants will discover how to create a LinkedIn profile and learn how LinkedIn can be used as a career building tool. Registration begins Monday, January 23rd at 10:00am.     • Take 20... Read to Your Bunny -- Jan. 9-Feb. 26

      Pick up an activity log for your child — age newborn-35 months — for this reading program which is geared toward our youngest Library users. Activity logs will be available beginning Monday, January 9, at the Children's Desk, on the Bookmobile, and can be printed from our website at BloomingtonLibrary.org. This program is designed to motivate families with young children to visit the library, read, and enjoy educational activities together during the winter months. Parents are asked to return their child's activity log to the Library by Sunday, February 26, to receive a small completion prize and be entered into a prize drawing for a basket of educational toys. The drawing will be held on Monday, February 27.

      Parents are encouraged to sign up their child at the Children's Department or on the Bookmobile. You can also find more information here.

    • Tinker Lab, Painting with Light -- February 16, 6:30pm

      Did you know that you can "paint" using light? As part of the Tinker Lab Series, let's work together and create some colorful, awe-inspiring photos using lights and an open-shutter camera. Registration begins Monday, January 16th at 10:00am. Painting with Light is limited to 20 participants, grades 3-5 only. A waitlist will be created if needed.     • Zoetropes -- March 16, 6:30pm

      Get lo-tech and build your own wheel of illusion! It's like making a movie, only much, much shorter. As part of the Tinker Lab Series, let's work together and create them.     • Chemical Reactions -- April 20, 6:30pm

      Will the color change? The consistency? Will something erupt?! Let's use the scientific method and find out using basic (and safe) chemicals!   • Teen Programs

    These awesome Teen Programs need registration. If you want to participate, please check the date/time of the program to make sure you are available to attend. Click the blue arrow of the program you want and then on the "click here to register" button. It will ask you for your name, age/grade, and contact information. (Make sure your contact information is an email you check regularly or a phone you use because we will either email you or phone you with reminders about the program.)

    And be sure to check our program guide for other teen programs that don't need registration.

    • Minecraft Survival Game (Community Room) -- March 8, 6:30-8pm

      To celebrate Teen Tech Week, come show your skills at Minecraft. Sign up with a partner and join us in the Community Room at 6:30pm for an epic survival game that will declare who is the Minecraft Champion of the Bloomington Public Library. Open to Teens, grades 6-12. Registration required. Registration begins Monday, February 13th at 10:00am. A waitlist will be created if needed.
