Children’s Services
Do you love watching a child’s face light up upon successful completion of a craft project? Does a child’s delight and interaction with a good story thrill you? If so, we’ve got the perfect volunteer opportunity for you as a Children’s Program Assistant.
The Children’s Services department plans a variety of programs for all ages throughout the year. This position would be seasonal or occasional.
Duties of the Children’s Program Assistant include:
- Helping with special children’s events in cooperation with the Children’s Services staff
- Making name tags and preparing other material
- Helping children make crafts
- Preparing craft materials
- Other duties as assigned
Deposit Collection Delivery
Outreach Services
Are you looking for a volunteer opportunity that may involve using a little muscle? If so, our Deposit Collection Delivery volunteer position may be right up your alley.
Duties of the Deposit Collection delivery volunteer include:
- Pick up rubber tubs of materials for each Deposit Collection site on a regular schedule
- Using your personal vehicle, deliver these materials throughout Bloomington
- Drop off new materials and pick up return items from the previous delivery
- Return materials to the library
- Other duties as assigned
Home Delivery Service Driver
Outreach Services
Are you a “people person” who’d like to bring smiles to people in need? If so, you may be a perfect fit as a Home Delivery Service volunteer.
Duties of the Home Delivery Service Driver volunteer include:
- Pick up canvas bags of materials for each Home Delivery customer on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis
- Using your personal vehicle, deliver these materials throughout Bloomington
- Drop off new materials and pick up return items from the previous delivery
- Briefly talk with the customer, answer their questions, and take requests for materials
- Return materials to the library
- Other duties as assigned
