Sponsorship Information

Bloomington Public Library will host the 3rd Annual Putt with the Prose miniature golf outing inside the library on Sunday, February 12, 2012, and we're hoping that you'll jump at the chance to be involved.

Between the hours of 1-5 p.m., we are hoping to attract 400-500 golfers who will each pay $6 to play our course. (Presale tickets will be sold for $5 from January 8-February 11, 2012, at the Library’s Circulation Desk and on the Bookmobile).

We will again run “greens” through our Children’s Department, our Adult Services Department, our Lower Level Lobby and the Community Room.

In order to make our event a success, we will need your help. We are seeking sponsors as well as prize donations from area businesses. A list outlining sponsorships and pricing is included with this letter. In addition, the obstacles we acquired with the course - 5-foot-tall Gorilla, Barn, Fire Truck, Book Drop, and Lighthouse - will be placed at holes 1, 5, 8, 14 and 16 respectively and offered on a first-come-first-paid basis to Hole Sponsors at no additional charge.

Businesses will be able to monitor sponsorship sales at our Website. Each time a sponsorship is sold, the Website will be updated to reflect that status. Information about specific holes - their shape, whether they include a hazard or an obstacle and their location in the Library - can also be found on our website.

Donations of goods are also needed and will be used as tournament prizes & door prizes. Companies and businesses which donate items for this effort will be listed on the back of the scorecard and on the "Thank You" banner that will hang in the Library's stairwell from February 13-March 13, 2012. The library asks that these items be complete items or gift cards. We'd prefer not to offer prizes that include a percentage off a service or that would require the winner to spend money in order to redeem their prize. We ask that these items be delivered or made available for pickup by a library representative no later than February 1, 2012.

In 2011, we were able to give away a door prize every 10 minutes of the event. We are hoping to be able to do the same this year. Additionally, two grand prize packs will be awarded via random drawing. One prize pack will be given to a child; the other will go to an adult.

Interested parties can contact the library's Marketing Department to reserve and pay for a sponsorship or arrange for pickup of items to be used as prizes.

The 19th Hole: $500 - 1 sponsorship available

  • Sponsor will be named at the top of the Scorecard.
  • Signage with logo (if provided) and name of business will be provided by the Library and will mark the area you've sponsored
  • Sponsors will be named at the top of a 3' x 7' thank-you banner that will hang in the Library's stairwell from February 13- March 13, 2012.
  • Sponsor is invited to provide paper materials for inclusion in the Goodie Bags that will be given to the first 500 golfers to play our course.
  • The sponsor of The 19th Hole will receive 4 passes to the outing.
  • $200 of this sponsorship will pay for beverages and popcorn for 500 golfers to enjoy for free at The 19th Hole.

Opportunities

  • Sponsor will be invited to send representation to the library between 9 a.m. & 1 p.m. on Sunday, February 12, 2012, to decorate The 19th Hole with obstacles, handouts, and signage related to their business. The 19th Hole will include a portion of the Library’s Community Room, tables, and chairs.
  • The 19th Hole Sponsor is invited to provide additional signage for their area.
  • Sponsor is invited to send an employee/s to man this area during the tournament in an effort to promote their business.
  • Sponsor is invited to conduct a door-prize giveaway at The 19th Hole. Having a door prize giveaway is not required.
  • Sponsor is allowed to hand out small items promoting their business at The 19th Hole.



Holes 1 - 18: $250 - 18 sponsorships available

  • Each hole will include the green, hole, and a small table that can be used by the Hole Sponsor for display purposes.
  • Sponsors will be named on the Scorecard.
  • Signage with logo (if provided) and name of business will be provided by the Library and will mark the area you've sponsored.
  • Sponsors will be named at the top of a 3' x 7' thank-you banner that will hang in the Library's stairwell from February 13- March 13, 2012.
  • Sponsor is invited to provide paper materials for inclusion in the Goodie Bags that will be given to the first 500 golfers to play our course.

Registration Table Sponsor: $250 - 1 sponsorship available

  • Sponsor will be named on the Scorecard.
  • Signage naming your business will be provided by the Library and will be posted at the Registration Table.
  • Sponsor will be named on a 3’ X 7’ thank-you banner that will hang in the Library’s stairwell from February 13, 2012, until March 13, 2012.

Goodie Bag Sponsor: $250 + 500 bags - Sold

  • Goodie Bag Sponsor would be responsible for delivering 500 bags (logo welcome) to the library by February 1, 2012. These bags would be used to carry all paper materials handed out by our sponsors.
  • Sponsor will be named on the Scorecard.
  • Signage naming your business will be provided by the Library and will be posted at the table where Goodie Bags will be distributed.
  • Sponsor will be named on a 3’ X 7’ banner that will hang in the Library’s stairwell from February 13, 2012, until March 13, 2012.

Opportunities

Door Prize Donors

  • Any business donating a door prize worth at least $25 is welcome to provide paper materials for inclusion in the Goodie Bags which will be received by the first 500 golfers to play the course.
