To Receive Tax Forms

The best, cheapest and easiest method to receive paper copies of tax forms and instructions is to call the IRS and have them mailed directly to your home. The number is 1-800-TAX-FORM (1-800-829-3676). 

The library has limited paper copies of tax forms available, and some tax forms are available for copying. Copies cost 10 cents per page.

If you need to print your tax forms at the library, the Adult Services department has Internet computers available on a walk up/first-come, first-served basis. Printing costs 10 cents per page.

For assistance in filling out Tax Forms

Librarians cannot legally assist you with filling out your tax forms.

Visit the Center for Economic Progress’ free tax preparation sites and get your taxes done fast and free.
Services are free to:

  1. Families (more than one person in home) with incomes of less than $40,000
  2. Individuals with incomes less than $15,000.

Circuit Breakers

The Illinois Department on Aging

  1. administers the Circuit Breaker program, which provides grants to senior citizens and persons with disabilities and
  2. enrolls qualifying individuals in the Illinois Cares Rx program (formerly Circuit Breaker Pharmaceutical Assistance and SeniorCare), which provides “wrap around” benefits with the new Medicare Part D prescription drug program.

Forms will be available at the library in mid-February.
