Magazines & Newspapers

The Bloomington Public Library provides magazines and newspapers in a wide range of subjects for recreational and informational interests. Newspapers are retained for two months and can not be checked out. The Pantagraph is permanently retained on microfilm. Back issues of several magazines and newspapers are available on ProQuest, an online resource to which the library subscribes.

  • You may check out up to 10 magazines at a time. However, the current issue does not check out. For some popular titles we receive duplicate issues, and the duplicates are allowed to check out immediately.
  • All magazines are FREE to check out!
  • All magazines check out for two weeks. Late fees are 10 cents per day, up to a maximum fine of $5.
