Rental Books
Bloomington Public Library has two small "rental book" collections.
You'll find rental copies of the newest and most popular fiction in the New Fiction collection. In addition, you will find rental copies of the latest exam study guides in the Test Preparation collection.
Rental books cost $1 for one week. And, after the due date, rental books cost 25 cents for each additional day.
Rental books help you find very popular items on the shelf, no holds required.

How to search for rental books in the catalog
- Click on “Power Search” on the catalog search screen (located in lower center – circled in red)
- On the resulting Advanced Search screen, fill in the fields as shown below:
- First drop down menu “words or phrases” type:#0
- First bold option "library" (below Search & Reset buttons) choose Main Library
- Fifth bold option “location” (below Search & Reset buttons) choose Rental Books from the list.
- This search will let you view all the Rental Books available at the library.
- The very last items on the list, with copyright dates older than 2006, are items that are lost or assumed missing.
