For Teachers

The Children's Services Department offers picture books, chapter books, nonfiction books, children's magazines, audiobooks, DVDs, music CDs, books in languages other than English, and more. Your library card allows you to have up to 50 items checked out. When checking out materials on high-demand, seasonal topics, please be considerate to others and limit yourself to 5 items per topic.


Any teacher with a valid library card can:

Class Visits

We welcome classes to our Children's Department. During these visits, librarians can give a tour, provide instruction in using library services, and/or include a story time or book talk. Please call Children's Services Manager, Melissa Waltrip, at least one month in advance, at 309-557-8960 or e-mail melissaw@bloomingtonlibrary.org

Teacher Pack Request

Please request your materials at least 3 days before you need them. Because of high demand for seasonal topics, we have a limit of 5 items per topic.
