Preschool Story Time

Help your child build independent listening skills while learning and having fun! This 10am story time meets in the Story Room and features longer stories, flannel boards, music, puppets, and interactive activities. Recommended for ages 3-5 years old.

Tales for Tails

Tales for Tails pairs trained and certified therapy dogs with children who want to practice reading aloud. Children in grades K-5 who are interested in this program should come to the Children’s Desk between 6pm and 7pm to be assigned a 10-minute session with a dog.

Space-Crafts (Star Trek Launch Party)

Have you ever wanted to create your own silly alien? Or design your own spectacular spaceship? Come to the Children’s Department between 10am and 5pm to build and take home a variety of Sci-Fi Space-Crafts!

Space (The Final Frontier) Story Time (Star Trek Launch Party)

3, 2, 1, . . . Blastoff! Join us at 10am in the Children’s Department for an Outer Space-themed story time. We will sing among the stars, prance among the planets, and dance in deep space, all while enjoying a few out-of-this world stories! For Trekkies and non-Trekkies alike.

The Stars are Out of this World! (Star Trek Launch Party)

Join the Twin City Amateur Astronomers as they explore the wonders of the stars in our universe. Attendees will enjoy the opportunity to view sunspots through a filtered telescope! There will be fun for ages — 5-105 — from 2-4pm in the Community Room and on the Patio.

Brick by Brick Duplo Story Time

Children and their caregivers will listen to a story, build specific elements of the story with Duplo bricks, and play together with others beginning at 10am in the Story Room. Taking pictures of your child’s projects is encouraged since blocks will not go home.

Evening Itty Bitty Lapsit

Join us for this shared story time geared for our itty-bitty library users and their caregivers. Bring a blanket and a favorite stuffed toy. This 6:30pm program in the Story Room encourages the development of pre-literacy skills with songs, rhymes, educational items, and movement!
