Family Games Day

Join us from 2-4pm in the Children’s Department where an assortment of games appropriate for children will be made available. Red Raccoon Games will also be on hand to demonstrate how to play sine hand-picked games.

Tales for Tails

Tales for Tails pairs trained and certified therapy dogs with children in grades K-5 who want to practice reading aloud. Beginning at 6pm the night of the program, interested students can sign up at the Children’s Desk.

Sensory Story Time

Sensory Story Time meets at 2pm in the Story Room and encourages children of all abilities to engage their senses with specialized stories, music, and activities. Time is reserved for sensory play and socialization.

Itsy Arts – Provided by the Illinois Art Station

Motor skills, confidence, and expression are nurtured and explored in this art class which is offered at both 10am and 1pm to kids age 5 and under with an adult. Registration is required and limited to 7 child/adult duos per class.

Jack of All Spades Card Club

Learn new card games or share old family favorites with new friends. All are welcome. Meet from 11am-12:30pm in the Community Room.

Global Tales

Join IWU international students as they read stories about their native countries and provide cultural lessons about our world at 11am in the Children’s Department. A different country is featured at each session.

Lego Construction Time

Kids in grades K-5 are encouraged to build independent and group creative projects with family and friends. Lego books and idea sheets will be available. A Duplo block area will be available for younger siblings.

Where the Wild Things Read

This interactive story time will encourage exploration, self-worth, and imagination with books, rhymes, music, and lots of movement. Meet at 11am in the Children’s Department.

Tuesday, December, 11

Cowpoke Campfire Story Time

Join us for a rootin’ tootin’ hootenanny of a story time at 10am in the Community Room. Our cowboys will share stories and songs. Dressing in western attire is encouraged, but please leave your six-shooters at home.

Better Together Paint Project

Families will prepare, sketch, tape, and paint cohesive canvas projects from 6:30-8pm in the Story Room. Projects will be displayed until claimed between Dec 18-22. Registration is required and limited to 25 participants.
