The Parent Collection contains fiction and nonfiction books plus audiovisual materials of interest to parents and caregivers. While some of the materials are directly for parent use, others are for parent and child to use together. This collection is located in the Children's Services Department on the opposite side of the Juvenile Magazine shelving and before the Juvenile Biography section begins.

Kit Collections

Kits check out for one week and are located in the Mixed Media section of the Children's Services Department. Below are a few kits in this collection.

Playaway is an audio format, combining recorded books with an easy-to-use player all in one small unit. When you check out a Playaway, all you have to do is press play to start listening immediately-there is no need for a separate player. Just insert your own headphones.

Baby Signing

Want to communicate with your baby in a new way? Baby Signing is a technique of utilizing signing to enrich baby's language skills before your child develops verbal speech. Several different materials are offered, including DVDs, board books, fiction and nonfiction books, kits, and CDs.
